National Curriculum

We teach the National Curriculum and Religious Education, throughout the school, as part of linked themes and topics, and as separate subjects:

Religious Education

'The provision for the pupils’ Spiritual, Moral, Social and Cultural development is very good. It is a strength of the school’ (OfSTED Report page 73)

We believe our children are the future of our faith, and aim to prepare them for the world of tomorrow, within the context of our Mission Statement. We aim to provide a caring environment in which our children grow and develop, founded on Gospel values, and supported by a co-operative partnership between home, school and parish. Our teaching is in accordance with the Christian faith in the Catholic tradition. The “Here I Am” programme is used throughout the school. Our lessons promote the knowledge, skills and attitudes of this subject, whilst daily acts of collective worship and regular liturgies combine to offer the opportunity for our children to reflect upon our beliefs, through prayer, meditation, encouraging consideration and respect for others and their beliefs.

School Prayer

This is our school,

Let peace dwell here.

Let the rooms be full of contentment.

Let love abide here.

Love of one another,

Love of mankind,

Love of life itself,

And love of God.

Let us remember,

That as many hands build a house,

So many hearts make a school.
