School Health Service

The doctors, dentists, and nurses in the school health service, have special experience in child health and development, and the way in which health problems can be helped at school. Their advice enables children to benefit fully from their education.

The school nurse tests the vision and hearing of every child.

Community Dental Service

The dental surgeon may carry out at school, periodic dental screening of all pupils. You will be informed of any impending screening, and your presence will be welcomed. The community dental service encourages children to visit their family dentist for their treatment, but you will have the opportunity of requesting that your child be treated by the community dental service if you so wish. If you need advice from the community dental service, the School Office will be able to tell you the location of your local clinic.

Oaklands Catholic Comprehensive

Children transfer at the age of 11, and parents may seek admission to Oaklands Catholic Comprehensive. This procedure begins during the Summer Term of Year 5. Close liaison is maintained with Mr M Quinn and Staff at Oaklands, with particular emphasis on the smooth transfer of our children at the end of their time with us. There are a number of exchanges both of Staff and pupils. However, please note from our admissions policy ‘Parents who enrol children do so on the clear understanding that there is no automatic right of transfer to Oakland’s Catholic School at 11+. Admission must be sought through the Governors of Oaklands.’ Please contact them for their current policy if required.

Other Secondary Schools

We also endeavour to help all children to transfer smoothly to other secondary schools of their choice.
