Hello Year 5 and 6
Wow week five of home learning…..we know we keep saying it but honestly we are beyond proud of each and every one of you!!! How you are copying at home and still producing outstanding work is incredible!!!! Most all we want you to know how much we love and miss you all and we really cannot wait to all be back together hopefully soon.
This week is Children’s Mental Health Week, something we think is so important to each and every one of you. I always say to my class and any children I work with a happy child is a child, who is able to learn and we really want to keep looking out for your happiness.
As part of Children’s Mental Health Week, we are encouraging all children to take a well-being day. This is an opportunity for the children to choose some activities to do to support their mental well-being and happiness. There are some suggested activities for families to discuss and decide on some activities that they would like to complete. Some of the activities follow the theme of ‘Express Yourself’ and other activities are ones that may also help with mental well-being. Obviously families are welcome to come up with activities of their own that they can safely do on their well-being day.
We are encouraging a well-being day for all children, this week, whether learning at school or at home. For this reason, we will only be setting 4 days’ worth of learning for this week. The fifth day will be your well-being day where you will choose some of the activities that you will complete to express yourself, make yourself feel good or make yourself feel happy. In school, we will taking our well-being day on Friday 5th February and our time tables for the week will reflect this. If you are learning at home all week, then you can take your well-being day on a different day if this suits your family situation better.
PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE share with us how you use your wellbeing day as that is important to us just like your work. Watch class dojo as well because there will be little wellbeing challenges posted each day.
On the bottom of the work this week, you will also find wellbeing challenges that you might want to look at on your wellbeing day or throughout the week. Within school we will be using this challenges each morning and afternoon to settle the children and emphasise the importance of wellbeing and loving who we are.
Thank you guys for just being you….
Stay safe- stay positive- stay YOU!!!!
Love Mrs T and the team xxx
