Mrs H Pinnington EYFS leader
Qualifications/ Training : (Qualified Teacher Status, BA hons, PGCE, Early Years Professional Status, Pediatric First Aid):
Mrs Pinnington is the Early Years phase leader. She has responsibility for teaching and learning across the EYFS. She has a range of experience of teaching in many Reception & Nursery classes. She previously worked as a Children Centre teacher and part of the Hampshire Early Years advisory team. She brings lots of specialist EYFS knowledge and experience to the role. She is very passionate about early years pedagogy.
Sarah Hennessy Nursery Teacher
Qualifications/Training: BA (Hons) Early Childhood Studies, Qualified Teacher Status, Early Years Teacher Status,
Pediatric First Aid
Sarah is our Nursery Teacher she joined the school in 2018. She has over 6 years experience, mostly teaching children under 5. Sarah is really pleased to have the opportunity to be the Nursery teacher at St Thomas More’s. " I am proud of how my team work well together to ensure we have a safe, happy and enriching environment for all of our children to flourish and thrive in."
Miss L Boatwright: Reception Class teacher
Qualifications/ training: (Qualified teacher status, Pediatric first aid)
Miss Boatwright has been teaching in EYFS for 6yrs +. She has taught both Reception and Nursery. She has lots of experience and is developing specialist knowledge of EYFS through her clear passion for this area of teaching.
Mrs L Stock Class Reception Class teacher
Qualifications/ training: (Qualified teacher status, Pediatric First aid)
Mrs Stock has spent 6yrs + teaching Reception. Mrs Stock is really enjoys teaching in EYFS .Prior to qualifying as a teacher, she gained experience in early years working in a Montessori Nursery and as a Nanny.
Emma Mitchell Nursery Practitioner
Qualifications/ Training: BA (Hons) Study of Religion with Qualified Teacher Status, Pediatric First Aid, Nursery SENCO, Designated Safeguarding Lead
Emma is a Nursery practitioner. She is a keyworker for the children and the Nursery SENCO. Emma has lots of experience in Early years. She has worked at St Thomas More’s since 2015. Emma previously worked as a KS2 school teacher for 14 years. She really enjoys teaching in in EYFS " I love seeing the progress the children make as they play in their safe and enriching environment in the nursery"
Deirdre Fudge Nursery Practitioner
Qualifications/Training: NVQ 3 in Childcare and Development, Level 3 LSA, Nursery Nurse Examination Board Diploma, Pediatric First Aid
Deirdre is one of our Nursery practitioners. She joined the team in 2020. Deirdre brings lots of experience to her role; she previously worked as a manager for a day nursery for 11 years and also worked as a nanny whilst raising her own children. Deirdre thoroughly enjoys working in the Nursery "I use my past experiences to enhance their development and to provide a safe environment in which to progress."
Helen Dewey: Nursery Practitioner
Qualifications/ training: NVQ 3, Pediatric first aid
Helen has lots of experience working with young children. Before joining the Nursery team she spent many years working in a preschool environment. Helen enjoys working with her keygroup and helping them to learn and develop.
Mrs L Sparks: Reception Teaching assistant
Qualifications/ training: Qualified teacher status, EYFS teaching diploma, Psychology Degree with Child Development.
Mrs Sparks is a reception class teaching assistant. She is a qualified teacher. She also brings many years of experience working within EYFS. She has supported children in both Reception and Nursery classes.
Mrs T Percival: Reception class teaching assistant.
Qualifications/ training: Pediatric first aid
Tricia has been working predominantly with Reception for a number of years and is very experienced in early years pedagogy. In her spare time Tricia also leads a Rainbows group.
Zsuzsanna Somheghi- Learning support assistant.
Qualifications / training: Qualified teacher, Pediatric First Aid
Zsuzsanna has worked to support a range of different SEN needs within the school. She has also worked as a preschool practitioner before joining the school team.
Miss E Collins: Learning support assistant
Qualifications/ training: NVQ Level 3, Pediatric first aid
Emma has also worked with the Nursery team before joining the school in her current role. She has a good knowledge of MAKATON and practical strategies to support children with communication.
Sharon Bicheno- Learning support assistant.
Qualifications/ training: NVQ 3
Sharon has been working as an LSA within the school for the past 3 years. This year she has joined the EYFS team as a 1:1 support assistant. She also works in the breakfast and afterschool club.
Jodie Cox- Nursery SEN support practitioner
Qualifications/ training- Level 3 Diploma in Children’s Learning and Development, Emergency First Aid at Work
Jodie recently gained her NVQ qualification and has joined the Nursery team. She supports a range of Nursery children with SEN and is really enthusiastic in her role to help the children with learning. She is especially skilled in supporting communication & language.
Anne Marie Hall- Nursery Administrator
Qualifications/ training: NVQ 3 Diploma in Business and Administration, NVQ 2 in Child Care Development
Pediatric First Aid
Anne Marie is the Senior Administrator for the Nursery, she has worked at St Thomas More’s since 2008. She enjoys being able to engage with the children as part of her role in the Nursery and can often be seen helping to settle the children in the morning or reading them a story after lunch.
